IVA’s & Bankruptcy

without comments

I can’t seem to get away from press stories like this at the moment. Endless tails of public suffering at the hands of today’s economic climate. IVA’s & bankruptcy seem to be particularly hot topics with endless reams of IVA & bankruptcy statistics coming public on a daily basis.

The latest official statistics on IVAs (to be fair they are from Mar 08) and bankruptcies appear to show a reduction on the same period a year earlier ( http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/otherinformation/statistics/200805/index.htm). It’s actually quite an interesting read, although, admittedly most of it goes over my head.

Holiday Spending

without comments

Wooo hooooo – back from my hols and raring to go. For anyone looking for a nice little family break in the UK I can whole-heartedly recommend NewQuay in Wales. It’s a bit quiet but very nice. Plenty of beach orientated activities to keep the children amused:

- rockpools
- nice beach
- kiting
- swimming

Budget wasn’t really a concern as we’d saved plenty of cash to make it a special one but here’s a quick spending rundown:

Holiday = Free (thanks to Tesco clubcard points)
Fuel = £50.00
Food & Drink = £70.00
Eating/Drinking Out = £50.00
Treats = £50.00
Total = £220

Not bad for a week away :)
