28.02.08 – Flowers, Beer & Soda Water
One look at the ‘Tags’ section on my blog will reveal that beer & alcohol are one of the most prolifant purchases in my spending regime. . .
What’s interesting though is that I didn’t realise that until I started this blog. So I’ve had a look at it now and am ready to re-dress the balance. Plus the fact I’m 28 today and need to slow down a little 🙂
Spends for yesterday:
Train fare – £14.50
Breakfast – £1.50
Lunch – £1.99
Flowers – £10.00
4 x beers – £3.00
Soda water – £0.95
Total Spend – £32.00

Successful Financial Negotiation
Just wanted to mention an excellent article recently featured on Jay’s DumbLittleMan.com called ‘The Art of Negotiation: Fifteen Steps to Success‘.
The concept for the article was thought up by one of my pals who I know was very pleased to be featured on such a well known site. The article gives some good practical tips for all stages of negotiation.
I’d recommend you take five minutes out to pop over and check out what you should be doing in your next negotiation. And . . . don’t forget we negotiate every day be it at work, home, at the pub. Read Jay’s tipss and keep them in your mined for the next suitable occasion.
Daily Spends – Mothers Day Special
Its Mothers Day on Sunday. I have three Mothers to sort for this year:
1 – My Mum
2 – My Mother in Law
3 – My Wife (from my 2 kids, dog, and unborn)
In short, it could be an expensive one! However, I’m lucky enough to have thought ahead and got a few things in over the January sales so each lucky Mother has got a nice cheap (but orginally expensive) Mothers Day gift bag including:
– Bath smellys
– A cool little cake shaped trinket
– A beautiful handmade card
– Some perfume
– Some nice little silk flowers
Total Original Price – £42.39 per bag (x 3 = £127.17)
Total Price ACTUALLY Paid – £14.50 per bag (x 3 = £43.50)
Cash saved by thinking ahead = £83.67
Daily Spends – 27.09.08
Let’s keep it real eh? Month end . . . severe lack of funds . . . depressing trip to the docs. I need some relaxation in the form of beer. So here’s what I’m guessing as spend for today:
6 x Beer – £5.00
1 packet of pistachio nuts – £1.49
Fuel – £15.00
Total – £21.49
